About
Bob:
Bob is a thirteen-year-old normal-grey cockatiel, originally
from the Maritimes. Bob has traveled and lived all over Canada. We
adopted Bob when he still just a little guy. At that time, he had a big
brother named George to show him how a cockatiel was supposed to behave.
George taught Bob to sing many fancy songs, and Bob taught George how to
wolf-whistle. They were close friends until George passed away recently.
George was yellow and Bob immediately adopted a highlighter the same
shade of yellow as George was. The yellow highlighter continues to
provide Bob comfort when he's in his cage.
Bob also has a close friend in a Pepsi can! One
seemingly normal day in 1994, a visitor drank a diet Pepsi as Bob
watched. Every time the visitor lifted the Pepsi can to his mouth, Bob
ran after it (Bob prefers to walk than fly), and similarly, every time
he set the Pepsi can down on the desk, Bob ran to catch up with it,
snuggle against it and wolf-whistle to it. Today, Bob still has that
same diet Pepsi can from 1994! He keeps it on top of his cage and never
strays far from it. He sometimes rolls it off of his cage and there is
no mistaking when this occurs, because Bob screeches until the can is
safely replaced.
Bob enjoys spending days at the office. His favorite
place is in front of the window where he can watch everything that goes
on outside but he also enjoys perching atop the office chairs to
supervise our work, and playing with the keys on the computer keyboards.
After hours, Bob enjoys joining his people at meal time
(his favorite food is spaghetti), and likes to insist on an after supper
petting session.
